Broke the Record

Hey, I broke my record today: I stayed on campus for 15 hours straight working. Business Ethics at 9:30, work (Physics), comp 1000 from 6-9:30 and group meeting for Networks from 9:30-12:30. Got home around 12:45. Thanks to Brad for the ride home. I'm pretty exhausted.

Software Construction in Shop 2 from 7pm-10:20pm. Saw Alien Vs. Predator today. Not a bad movie; it would be better on big screen.

More Constructions on Campus

Discovered another major construction on campus today, by the Goodwin Music Hall. Seems like they are planning endless number of construction projects on campus; they might as well unearth the entire campus and rebuild everything. The excavation by Foy started this week was expanded to the entire parking lot behind Foy. Let me elaborate:



Also the resurfacing of Gay street makes walking to class unpleasant.

Friday.. yay!! Had group meeting for Networks from 2:30pm to 5:30 pm. I thought the assignment is easy, but we still didn't get it done after 2 days of meeting. Afterwards went to play tennis with Tuan, Masa, and Paul. It was great!

Blow Up Haley

The Software Construction class was canceled unexpectedly. From what I heard there is a bomb threat at the Haley Center, so no one was allowed to enter the building, I wouldn't want the tallest building at Auburn to blow up..

No class, so Tuan and I went playing tennis. I was kicking his butt .. haha.. 6-2 says it all

We actually got out of comp 1000 15 minutes early tonight, which is pretty sweet.

Discovered another new excavation on campus today. No, it's not an archaeological excavation, but an excavation for pipes by the back door of Foy.

Got the score for Business Ethics midterm. 25 Question exam, missed 5, so got 80

Supercomputers, Anyone?

So the construction workers started another dig today on the side walk in front of the Mary Martin. Since that my normal route to my public speaking class, I had to go around the construction site therefore risking my life by walking on the road with the cars, and bikes..

Speaking of public speaking, I got the score for my informative speech back. I got 85 which is lower than my first speech. I almost had a heart attack when I see the score. I put so much effort into that speech and I know I definitely did better than the first speech, and still got a lower grade?! I did go over the time for 1.5 minutes, so I got 10 points taken off there <-- pissed.. Anyways, have to work harder on the next speech.

Our networks class joined Dr. Carlisle Principle of Programming Language class for a special presentation about supercomputers at Alabama presented by Dr. David Young from the Alabama Supercomputer Authority in Huntsville (I'll try to put a picture up later). I didn't realize that educational institutions in the state can request for free computation time on the most power computers in Alabama.

Currently at the library. It's hard to get any peace tonight. Some people came to our apartment b/c a girl is supposed to leave tomorrow for Hawaii, so I came to the library. After coming to the library, some people were talking loudly in the computer lab about random and uninteresting facts they saw on the facebook. Not one of the best days..

FK's Birthday

One day of next week is fk's birthday, and she decided to come up to Auburn today. So basically I was getting things together for her and another special someone's birthdays. I got 2 cakes today and some gifts.

I went playing tennis with some guys and afterwards we went to Mikata for dinner, then we went to Tuan's house for the cake and movie till 1:00 am. The day's interesting, but now I'm broke.

Sfotware Construction HW3

I'm currenlty at the Shop 2 Computer Lab, and submitted my software construction homework 3 like 2 minutes ago, which is like 3 minutes before the deadline.. phew.. definitely cut it too close this time, and defiinitely did not approximate and manage time too well .. This is not going to happen again!

Well I have been working on this assignment since 12:00 PM today, and been work straight for about 10 hours. I'm thinking about getting a double cheeseburger at McDonald's..

Rain and Mud

O yeah.. one more thing, we are getting some rain in Auburn last couple of days, and we got mud and wet sand on campus everywhere. Why do we have so much mud? Because there are so many constructions going on, on campus, since like 2 or 3 semesters ago. Currently, there are at least 7 MAJOR constructions going on, not counting the minor digs that's popping up every week. I'm not surprised with all the rain that the roads start cracking (and buildings sinking) because of soil loss..

Software Construction Midterm

I got my software construction midterm back today. Because Dr. Dozier were complaining about how low the exam scores are, I had this low expectation built up in my mind. When I got the exam back, I was surprised that I made 85, plus 10 points for everyone, so 95; it's not bad :D.. One thing is for sure, more studying for the next exam.

MySpace has been really unreliable lately. I had problem posting my blog entry last night, and I wasn't able to login all night tonight. I really don't like to see that I can see someone's profile b/c it's been disabled for maintenance.

Network Score

Okay, so I got my midterm in Networks back today, and I made 89. I was expecting higher score, but 89 isn't bad consider that I only studied for the midterm for 2 hours because of the speech. At least I know what to expect for the coming exams.

Tuan, Masa, and I decided to play tennis tonight, since a lot of heavy stuff are over. We initially only had 3 people, then we met DO on the court. We played 3 double matches (really just 3 sets) in 2.5 hours. It was a good exercise, and a lot of fun. Result:

I'm the king of the werld! Okay not really, but it feels really good to be done with all the stinky midterms and speech and have a lot of free time for the rest of the week, except for the software construction homework due friday midnight. I hope my I did alright on my Business Ethics midterm. It wasn't as hard as I thought, but it's definitely challenging. I gave my speech on the first of the speech dates, so all I have to do tomorrow in the class is relax and see people struggle with their speeches.. Haha, j/k, I'm sure all the speeches will be interesting.

The Physics study group was productive, and Comp App class was fun, but how can people have so many questions about Excel? I had to stay in class for extra 20 minutes tonight, b/c a lot of people weren't finished with their spreadsheet assignments.

While I was walking home from work, two fire trucks rushed passed me, and a lot of people standing outside of the library, b/c apparently the library is on fire again. It's probably another false alarm.

Informative Speech and Networks Midterm

I presented my speech and took the midterm in networks this morning, and I wasn't disappointed! It's good to regain the feeling that you are well prepared for something important (and be able to perform on demand). I only had two hours of sleep last night/this morning, but all the effort was definitely worth it.
